Exporters
The NSW and ACT schemes each have their own export protocols that set out the requirements and rules for claiming a rebate as an exporter.
The NSW Container Export Protocol sets out how exporters can claim a rebate for eligible containers purchased in NSW and exported outside NSW to be sold in another state or overseas.
Airline and cruise ship industries can also claim refunds on beverage containers through the NSW scheme based on the following rules:
Exporters can only claim the rebate for containers that are already registered under the NSW container deposit scheme.
The ACT Container Export Protocol sets out how exporters can claim a rebate for eligible containers purchased in ACT and exported outside ACT to be sold in another state or overseas.
To be eligible to claim a rebate under the ACT CDS, the container must have been supplied into the ACT by a business other than the exporter, that business must have paid the ACT CDS contribution for the container to EfC, and the exporter must send the container interstate or overseas.
